[Qoo News] Naruto's mangaka Masashi Kishimoto starts new series in 2018

No more Naruto and Boruto? In Jump Festa 2018, the series’ creator Masashi Kishimoto (岸本斉史) revealed his desire to get over his hit titles, while at the same time announcing a new work currently in planning.

Kishimoto, albeit not making an appearance in the event, wrote a letter that directed at his fans. Here is the content:

“To all of you at Jump Festa:
It’s really cold today. Thank you for coming!
Seriously! Thank you you all for coming!
I am Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of Boruto and Naruto.
I have been very much involved in Boruto since 2017.
It had of course a manga and a TV anime that has already begun.
I have always been working on it.
When Boroto’s movie came out,
I thought,
“that’s enough already, I can’t draw it anymore”.
It’s bad to limit myself.
I want to achieve more in 2018.
Now that Naruto’s Hollywood adaption is going smoothly.
The games are very good.
Thanks to you guys,
both Boruto and Naruto have been thriving.
Weekly Shonen Jump has also been thriving,
and it’s 50 year old in 2018!
I guess I have to make some contribution to celebrate such achievements –
a new work in which I am going to break my limit.

Following the letter reading was a sneak peek at his coming new work!

The manga pages show a cat-like creature and guys with katana. Fans are guessing the genre is Japanese fantasy. Details about this coming manga remain mysterious.

Besides, a new visual of TV anime Boruto: Naruto Next Generations (BORUTO-ボルト- NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS) is released today. It is illustrated by Kishimoto.
