In the Weekly Shonen Sunday sold today, manga series Detective Conan (名探偵コナン) announced a short rest starting from the next issue of the magazine. According to what the mangaka, Gosho Aoyama (青山剛昌), wrote in the comment section, his current health condition is not very promising.

He said the decision was also due to his need to “recharge himself” and that the rest would be short. He finished off the announcement with “should I start playing Animal Crossing? (laugh)”.

The manga’s return date is still uncertain.

Detective Conan has been running for 23 years on Weekly Shonen Sunday since 1994. Shinichi Kudo is a high school detective who is transformed to a child after being forced to ingest a poison. He then keeps his identity secret and presents himself as Conan. Together with his friends, he solves cases after cases. A mobile game, Detective Conan Puzzle: Cross Chain, was announced recently and will be arriving 2018 Spring.
