According to Jump Square’s reply to J-Cast News, the magazine will stop serialising Rurouni Kenshin for now.

“The company takes the issue seriously. The mangaka is now reflecting on his actions. Rurouni Kenshin’s Hokkaido Arc on Jump Square will be suspended after the latest chapter in the issue sold on 4th December.”

The said chapter, chapter three, is available in the December 2017 issue of the magazine.

The series had had no new manga released for 18 years. The recent arc started two months ago. It is a sequel to the main plot. 5 years after Jinchu Arc,  Myojin Yahiko stays at Hokkaido to train. A worried Himura Kenshin therefore sets out to look for him.

Whether the arc will be permanently suspended is not confirmed yet.
