In the God Eater Orchestra Live earlier this month, Bandai Namco officially unveiled the third console title for God Eater, God Eater 3 (ゴッドイーター3). The trailer played showed many new elements that have never been seen before, including new aragami types and double swords. More about the announcement can be seen here.
Recently, more visual details have been released. Here are three things that we can tell from the pictures!
▍Mysterious Protagonist
The story is set quite a while after God Eater 2, and the Fenrir headquarter is said to have been destroyed by Arigami, which is also suggested by the broken Fenrir emblem on the hero’s cape. The said hero is still a God Eater, of course. Yet, his stance is unknown since he is locked up by a mysterious organisation.

▍Action
God Eater 3 is the first in the series to introduce double-swords (a type of God Arc). They can also be connected at the grips to become one huge weapon which must be used with both hands, and which can be used as a gun.

During Burst mode, “Oracle cell” is ejected into the God Arc from the bracelet on the hero’s right hand to make it more powerful.
▍Aragami
Aragami is the type of enemies appeared throughout the franchise. They are the products of Oracle cell, and they feed on humans. God Eaters are the only ones who can repel them.
God Eater 3 will introduce new Aragami that change their attack patterns at different phases. Take this aragami for example – it is the one that people in the trailer talk about. At first, it appears as a wolf-like creature walking on four legs.
Later, it walks on two legs and attacks with its long claws. In this form, its power is greater and deals more damages. Players will have to change their previous strategies and God Arc forms at this point.
Other new Aragami have also been unveiled.
▍Field
This time, the major field of battles will be shifted to canyons. Of course, the iconic city scenes that have always been in the franchise will still be there.
