Masaki Yamada’s (山田 正紀) novel Oka Ninpocho: Basilisk Shinsho (桜花忍法帖 バジリスク新章) will be getting an anime adaption soon. The TV show, Basilisk: Oka Ninpocho (バジリスク ~桜花忍法帖~), has finalised the premiere date to be January 2018. The cast and staff information has also been unveiled.

Background

The original TV anime Basilisk is adapted from Futaro Yamada’s (山田 風太郎) novel called The Kouga Ninja Scrolls (甲賀忍法帖) published in 1958. The story is about a couple, Kouga Gennosuke and Iga Oboro, whose family are rival Ninja clans. The clan conflict eventually leaves the lovers with only two choices – their partner or their families.

The new anime is a sequel, depicting the event that happens 10 years after The Kouga Ninja Scrolls. The protagonists are the children of Gennosuke and Oboro, Kouga Hachiro and Iga Hibiki. Director Junji Nishimura is producing it at Seven Arcs Pictures.
