Regarding the end of Magi, the mangaka commented that he was very happy throughout the last eight year.

“Magi will finally finish this week. I have been very happy in the past eight years drawing the world of Magi. It’s my honour if people are interested in this piece of work. Shonen manga is something doomed to be forgotten as people grow up, but I hope Magi still exists as an encouragement to these people who are busy with their lives. As the last chapter is coming, I am reading everyone’s letter and at the same time telling myself, ‘it has been great being a mangaka’. Thank you so much! These are all my most precious treasures.”

The mangaka did not state if he was going to draw another manga soon.
