After seeing all the gameplay demo videos released at various different conventions, I’ve decided to find the answers to one of the questions that other videos haven’t revealed, is it possible to have a character die/be defeated in the demo. To put it simply, yes, it is possible.

Starting with the Koei Tecmo booth, clearly, the brand is focusing on showcasing the highly anticipated Dynasty Warriors 9 and Fire Emblems Warriors. Asides from the large displays and cosplayers, weirdly, the most significant part of the booth, to me, was the curved overhead displays announcing the many gifts visitors can receive from trying out Koei Tecmo’s flagship titles of the year (top of article). The queue for Fire Emblem Warriors was way shorter in comparison to Dynasty Warriors 9’s queue, possibly due to the incredible popularity of the Dynasty Warriors series in the SEA regions. Hopefully, before TGS ends, I’ll have a chance to try it out too! (fingers crossed)

Back to the main subject, Fire Emblem Warriors is a Dynasty Warriors style Hack’n Slash, Beat’em All game set in an alternative world with characters from almost all the Fire Emblem titles. From the controls and UI to the general feel of the game, Fire Emblem Warriors feels just like another Dynasty Warriors game. However, as many fans will know, Fire Emblem characters, unlike Dynasty Warriors characters, are separated into different categories including Pegasus Knights, and Wyvern Riders.

What makes Fire Emblem Warriors different from the Dynasty Warriors and Sengoku Warriors series is that certain characters that are known for being Pegasus Knights and Wyvern Riders, for example, Camilla. Camilla is one of the characters in Fire Emblem Warriors who appears riding her beloved mount.

To be completely honest, when compared to Dynasty Warriors 9,Fire Emblem Warriors doesn’t really stand out as much, From graphics, gameplay, event the story, Fire Emblem Warriors isn’t something new from to the "Warriors" series. Gameplay asides, the story is quite similar to 2007’s Warriors Orochi where a bunch of characters from the Dynasty Warriors series and Sengoku Warriors series gets summoned to an alternative world. Fire Emblem Warriors is the same, only with a heavy Fire Emblem influence on the original characters, enemies, and world setting.

For fans of Fire Emblem, the game certainly does have its appeal. being able to watch characters from different Fire Emblem titles interact with one another surely does answer to many fan’s fantasies, but looking at it from a gamer who’s not that into the Fire Emblem series, I can only say, the game is pretty much just another Dynasty/Sengoku Warriors game but with different characters and a different world setting, the biggest difference being some characters are stuck with riding fantasy mounts such as Dragons and Pegasus. Asides from the Demo area, Koei Tecmo has a featured wall for Fire Emblem Warriors, showing a chart explaining the relationship between certain characters in the Fire Emblem series, alongside items that will be included in Fire Emblem Warriors’ Special Edition package.
